Kody the Monkey

Kody had a great way to get off the trampoline without any assistance!

Best Buds

I didn't really have any great stories so I thought I'd just post a few more pictures from our Rhode Island trip to visit our good friends (you know who you are)! Kody and Sammy were especially adorable with their Superman jammies and binkies!

Fun in the Sun

We went out yesterday with some friends to this really cool lake/splash park, here are some of the pictures.
Can you see the sand on Mollie's mouth? She ate quite a bit, I guess she needed some protein?
The little boy baby is Mollie's new boyfriend, isn't he cute?

Sorry

I guess my cute video doesn't work. I will have to work out the kinks and set up another one. In the meantime, here is a funny quote for today:
"There is not enough time to do all the nothing we want to do." ~Bill Watterson
May you find time for at least a little nothing today.

Just Cute

This is just a cute video I took of Princess M. while her brother was napping.

Quality Time with Daddy

I took these pictures a few weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon when the kids were being so cute with Papa Bear. They were both wrestling with him and loving every second!

Emergency Prep, 9 Months & Tobacco Plants?

My post for today has a little bit of everything! First off, I got a new calling at church. Our wonderful bishop has asked me to be the new ward Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, raise your hand if you think I'm the least qualified person for the job!! He also informed me that coming up in the few months we have a HUGE project that I will be in charge of. I guess we will be putting together kits that include everything you will to survive for one month. All the food at least, I don't think we'll be doing toiletries or any personal items. We have a cannery just outside of Detroit where we will be dry-pack canning all of the supplies. Whew! I'm overwhelmed just thinking about it! And don't worry, my calling includes me inheriting the wheat grinder that our ward purchased many years ago, won't my mommy be so proud of me (if I actually use it, that is)!
Next, our little Princess Baby Bear is now NINE MONTHS OLD!!! I can't believe it myself, wasn't it just yesterday that I was all drugged up and numb from the many pain medications I was given to assist me in giving birth to our beautiful (giant) baby girl? She amazes me everyday. She's so funny, too. She can go from laughing and cooing to screaming her head off in no time at all! My life would be so different without my 2 little angels to entertain me. Kody is such a great big brother, if Mollie's crying in her bed he will say "oh no, Mah-nee." And start heading up the stairs to get her. If she falls asleep in her carseat he will put his hands on his cheeks and yell "ga ga ga" which means "Wake up Jeff" in Kodese. Ever seen the Wiggles? If so, you'll understand where that comes from. If not, you're really missing out!
Finally, I was coming back into the house from running the garbage to the dumpster today when our neighbor stopped me and told me that the pretty night-blooming flower that's planted in our front "yard" is in fact a tobacco plant. He then proceeded to pull out all the weeds right there on the spot and tell me what everything else is. What a great neighbor! Now I can plant the flowers we bought this weekend without having to pull out the weeds! Oh, I wonder what we're growing in the back yard? I don't think there's anything else that can be smoked, but there is a strange sort of vegetable looking thing growing on a vine. Hmmm.

More

I had so many pictures from our trip to Rhode Island, I just had to post a few more!

Visit with old friends

Papa Bear had some time off this past week, so we packed the kids in the car and headed east. Rhode Island, that is, to spend some time with our good friends from San Francisco. Let's call them the Warwick family! Brother Bear has been asking for them since we left SF, and he was so excited when we got to their house! It was after midnight when we were driving into their town and as I hadn't yet told him why we had been in the car all day, I chose now to say something. For the next 10 minutes until we arrived at their house he kept saying, "Maa? Duh?" He was beside himself as soon as he saw their faces!

We spent 3 funfilled days being tourists, hanging out on the beach and just playing and catching up at the house. The trip ended up being quite a bit longer than we expected, and the kids were great!
Baby Bear stayed in her carseat and hardly complained. She slept, played, ate and even drank some formula!!! Brother had a fun time playing with his toys and was rewarded with happy meals from "Nonald". We crossed 2 countries and 7 states to play with our friends and it was worth every mile!

Braces for the Good Dr.

In order to be sure they know what they're doing, Brett's class put braces on each other one day. He was quite uncomfortable, but I think it will help him empathize with his patients! Hmm, I've never kissed a boy with braces! He chose to have them on the bottom if you couldn't tell!

Mollie's Milestones

Here it is, the moment you've all been waiting for.....
Mollie got her first tooth!!! She has been sick and grouchy and just plain miserable to be around, and it has finally paid off! The tooth broke through a few days ago, on the bottom, and I suspect there is another one not too far behind. She is also crawling like a champ and beginning to climb. Whether we're ready or not, our little princess is growing up.

Changes

I was just typing an email to my mom, and I realized that I have some bragging to do here. Kody is becoming quite the little boy lately, I can't believe how fast he is growing up! He is having such an easy transition in our new home, and he already has some favorite things that he likes to do. For example, he loves going to the "wah-way" to get new movies (that's library for all of you who don't speak Kodese) and he likes to play with his little sister "Mah-nee" (some of you might remember he used to call her mama) and there is a "wide" by our house that he likes to slide down all by himself! He is sleeping in his big boy bed all night long, and he only gets his "mimi" (binky) for naps and bedtime. He still loves taking baths ("blah") once he's in the tub, but sometimes it's a fight to get him in. His favorite movies are "Byo" (Toy Story), "Gah" (the Wiggles), and "Deedo" which is both Dora the Explorer and Go Diego Go. He also loves watching "dobah" (the Doodlebops) and "Mou" (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) on the Disney channel.

Princess Mollie is growing rigth before our eyes. Can you believe she's 8 months old?!? She loves to eat anything and everything and is crawling/dragging herself all over the place. She pulls herself up on everything whether it's sturdy or not. I feel like she won't be as cautious as Kody -- oh well, she is sure entertaining to watch! She loves her big brother and always wants to play with him. He's pretty good to throw her a little attention every now and then. She has a new little boyfriend who is a few weeks younger and a whole lot bigger! She is definitely a girl -- very moody. She lets you know when she's not happy, and that girl can yell! I can't even call it crying anymore, she just yells at the top of her lungs. Sometimes I just laugh and other times I want to scream with her. She's mostly happy, though, and we love her so much!

Hooray!

Can you believe it, our bounce house finally came!!!! After several weeks of lying to us, Brett told the moving company that we were going to start the process of taking them to small claims court and viola! they sent it via UPS (I thought they wouldn't take it because of the weight?) and it arrived today! It was just in time for one of our neighbor's weekly BBQ, so of course we had to open it up to make sure it was ok. I don't want to brag or anything, but I think we just became the most popular family in the neighborhood! We still have many unresolved issues with the moving company, but at least we got the bounce house back. We've already filed a complaint with the government, and Brett spoke with Arbitration as well. I really hope this is all over soon.

Deep thoughts by Kim

Sometimes you're the penguin, sometimes you're the finger....

Today I feel like the penguin, is that bad?

What?

The Reason I Haven't Posted In So Long...

I found this on some random blog and spent some "quality" time with the penguin -- thought you might like it too!
