I Looked out the Window....

...and what did I see?
(can you guess what song I'm singing? Just change the words a little)
this is the view from my bedroom window this morning. Brrr!
I woke up in snow this morning
I woke up in snow this morning
I went to bed with sun on my mind!

(anyone recognize this song for 10 points?- different lyrics, of course)
Luckily, the plows are very dilligent and keep our sidewalks, parking lots and roads very clear!

I got the popcorn popping song, but I don't know the other one. It is another one isn't it? I'll have to check back later and see if anyone else figured it out.

Enjoy that snow. Drink lots of hot chocolate.

The second song is a little more difficult, so here's a hint:
It's from a TV show/group in the 70's but I became aware of them through SNL in the early 90's. Does this help?

Jeff was a SNL junky at that time. I might have to get help from him. I thought for sure someone would post the answer by now.

yeah, I'm beginning to think nobody reads my blog anymore.

Hey, I read your blog! I'm just waiting for the answer to the second song question.

alright, since nobody seems to have a guess I'll tell you! First of all, the SNL skit was from when Susan Dey hosted and they did a spoof on the partridge family (she was Lori P.). Any guesses now? C'mon, I totally gave it to you! Where are all my sisters?

The only song I know that relates to the Partridge Family is "I Think I Love You" but that doesn't seem to fit. But I do love to sing that song at top volume while dancing around the room. (Or at least I did when I lived with roommates.)

P.S. No one (except maybe a relative) will ever guess the answer because you're the only one with such an extensive knowledge of obscure pop culture trivia. JUST TELL US!

okay, fine! Since all my sisters seem to be MIA, I'll just tell you! Although I do love the song you mentioned, this is my second fave by the P Fam. It's "I Woke up in Love this Morning" and it's awesome! Maybe I'll see if I can post it somehow. I know everyone is dying to hear it!

I don't think I know that song. How sad is that. Maybe I would recognize it if I heard it. Too bad the computer we are using since our laptop broke doesn't have speakers or I would try to find it and listen to it. Oh well, someday I will experience this song I'm sure.
