What a Pleasant Surprise!

I have been meaning to write about this for some time, but I wanted to put a picture with it. So here is my story, and I'm not making it up! One hectic day a couple weeks ago, we came home after running a bunch of errands, and there was this big package at our doorstep. At first I thought it was just another one of Brett's tools or something for school, but on closer examination it had my name on it! Well, you can imagine my surprise when there was a package for me! Then I remembered that I was expecting a package from Usborne Books, as I had signed up to be a consultant, but it didn't say it was from Usborne and in fact had come from Amazon.com. I was now so curious, I threw the kids in the house and grabbed the box. Kody helped me tear off the paper around it and cut the tape, and I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw what was inside! It was a brand new KitchenAid mixer (some of you may know that mine was broken on our move). I asked Brett about this and he said, just read the invoice. So I did, and it said that this mixer was to make my life a little easier since I was such a great wife, mother and cook (total lie). Seriously, I started crying right then! As you all know, Brett isn't one to just buy something on a whim so you can understand my excitement when he did something so sweet for me! He said he got a killer deal on it, and I'm so glad he did! Don't I have the sweetest husband in the whole world? Now, we still had the old one as we hadn't fully decided what to do with it - we could get it repaired, throw it away or just let it sit on our counter and look good - so I posted it on Craigslist for $60 just for fun to see if I could sell it. Within a week I had sold it to some guy who wanted to play around with it for $40! And that's the truth!

The Thrill of the Game

There's a certain feeling in the air on game day in Ann Arbor. It is absolutely unbelievable how alive the town is with excitement for the thrill of victory that will inevitably come. The streets are filled with people wearing blue and maize, playing football, j-walking, or just walking in hoards to get to the stadium on time. It just so happens that I haven't gone to one game, but I have been the chauffeur to get my better half to the games so I get the joy of driving through the craziness without the thrill of being at the game for the win. Here are a few pictures from the Big House.

Not again!

That's right, our family has been visited by the hand, foot and mouth virus again. This time it's our little Mollie. Our poor baby has been so miserable these past few days - I hope she feels better soon! We had our home teacher come over tonight to help give her a blessing, so that will help. I just hope she sleeps tonight!

Booger Nose & the Bear

Do you ever just have one of those days? Between the teething (both of them), runny noses (mostly the little one, but the big one occasionally) and sleepless nights (again, both of them) every day seems to be "one of those" lately. Don't get me wrong, they're not all bad, but I have to say something's gotta give soon or I might just ship my 2 beautiful offspring to spend some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa! No, they really are cute and sweet and all that -- I'm just tired! Anyway, here are some great pictures I've been collecting for a rainy day (like today). Enjoy!how sweet!

Labor Day Weekend

Wow, I can't believe this week is already gone. I'm sorry, I meant to write this post at least by Wednesday but I guess I didn't! Well, we had a great visit from Auntie B last weekend. We went to our favorite lake, where we played in the water and rented a boat! The kiddies had a great time getting to know their aunt a little better, and I was happy to have more help for a few days! Our neighbors had a Labor Day BBQ so of course we had to break out the old bounce house, Mollie was co cute on it! She sat for the longest time just being bounced up and down by the big kids (she was on the outside of course)! I think we need to get her a water bed, maybe then she would sleep. It was sad to say good-bye, but we're hoping to get Auntie B out here again for Turkey Day!

Tribute 2 The Croc Hunter : Steve Irwin

Of the many tributes I found to Steve Irwin, I liked this one the best. It has a fun song, and it makes me feel happy to have been entertained by him over the years. I'm sure he's wrestling all the crocs in heaven! If you want to see some of the other tributes, you can see them at www.video.google.com Enjoy!

The Good Dr. at Work

I finally got Dr. Straighteeth to give me some pics of him and his classmates putting braces on each other. He just put braces on an actual patient a few days ago, I guess it went okay since they didn`t call in excruciating pain!

Doesn't he look good with his white coat and mask?

Fun Trivia

This is for my sisters, Jul & Ali (and for anyone else who was addicted to the original Kids Inc.)....

I just found out that Fergie, the girl lead singer for the Black-Eyed Peas, is none other than Stacie from Kids Incorporated -- can you believe it? I miss that show, why don't they play reruns or release the DVD? Anyway, I was excited to learn this fun fact and thought you would be too! I liked the Black-Eyed Peas already, and now I like them even more! I hate to admit it, but "My Humps" is one of my guilty pleasures!
